- Birth isnt something happy really. A baby doesn't realise what just happened when it's born.
- If you don't remember it , did it really happen?
- A baby thinks : ' Oh ok I'll try out this fancy VR now and oh I am in another world and I emerge from the darkness with my brain hard drive all formated, zero information about anything. A quest for knowledge and self meta conciousness retrieval. The realization of my meta existance outside this new world and the victory of the game with a battle royale.
- You know it makes sense that hu,ams are obsessed with games.
- So there is this VR game which locks up all your memories. You are immersed in a brand new world maybe different from this reality. You start at the bottom, zero knowledge, absolute ignorance, everything is new, the anything is everything. Your first and only goal by the time you enter this game is to escape this virtual reality. Only possible so , if you recall your conciousness from the reality beyond. The biggest game in history. Its success due to the unique experiance and astronomical risk. If it lasts a lifetime is it still a game or a life? Maybe only one player plays each time. The rest are NPCs without any power of will.
- Even if you have a mind capable of understanding the cosmos completely, being a human means the only part of your brain keeping you from doing nothing and dying is the part responsible for emotions. Speaking purely from a logical standpoint, the universe and life have no meaning, no end goal, at least not one that includes humans. Your logical brain doesn't want to live; it doesn't care to. Only your emotions are here and alive, the part of you that you often can't control, the unconc, that is the only thing tethering you to life. Break the unconscious mind and suddenly you will sit and die of oxygen deprivation 100% of the time, not unlike a computer with no user. All purpose you can ever hope to find in life is inside a part of your brain that you literally cannot control. That is kind of scary
- That I kinda get, though 'all' is too big of a word
- Where else would you find purpose though?
- In the conscious mind?
- Nothing outside your head exists , or it may as well not. The conscious mind is the computer itself. It doesn't care but the unconscious propels it.
- What do you mean by 'break the unconscious mind' ?
- With curiosity
- And also die from oxygen deprivation
- I mean , remove unconsciousness. Everything that isnt logic and everything that isn't centered and one with you. Die from oxygen deprivation i mean you will sit and not breathe and die or if you don't remove the part of the brain that is responsible for your reflexes (even though you should by the definition above) you'll die of dehydration.
- If you're saying , you cannot remove the unconscious mind because it is a valuable survival tool then yeah I agree. For these reasons and many more . Habituation for example. The ability of man to get used to repeated patterns and receive less stimulation from the world. Without this we would be living in a constant chaos. Or more accurately we wouldn't live. There are lots of vital uses of the unconscious mind. Maybe parts if not all of memory too.
- I dont get existance man
- You are not alone..or so I want to believe am I right?
